Umm... *mumbles* Mortuary Science.

Okay, okay, so I'm now going to be a funeral director. And no, it isn't because of the cute guys I met. But they did have an influence: Not their looks, but their disposition.

I've found out that it takes a certain kind of person to do such a job. You have to be sweet and compassionate, but have an enormous spiritual and mental strength to get through it too. I was told I had these qualities. So, I decided to switch because I was this rare type of person...*cue in cheesy "Illumination" movie music*

Alright, so my decision wasn't nearly as romantic as that.

My true reason?

I'M A HUGE SCIENCE GEEK!!!!

I can't get enough of science! I'm damn proud of it, too!

And I've been fascinated-in-a-non-creepy/necrophiliac-way with funeral service in general. But first and foremost, I'm the biggest science geek in my Astronomy class...okay, my astro. professor tops my geekiness by at least 570%. But you get what I'm saying.

One more year here.

We put all of my Pre-Mortuary Science classes into ONE WHOLE FRICKIN' YEAR! Holy sheit! My fall semester is 17-credits of NON-STOP PRE-MORT CLASSES!!!!



So as for the next step-- The professional program at Wayne State University in Detroit. It's the only university that offers the program in the whole state of Michigan. /EPIC-PHAIL

My professional program schedule is...well, you can see for yourself. [link] It'll save me the pain from ranting about it. The schedule speaks volumes...Note the credit amounts per semester.

Yes, that's all crammed into one year, too.

My second year is reserved for an actual apprenticeship at an actual funeral home. Whether I get to choose or not, I don't really know, but I'm doing my homework on the whole thing.

AND I NEED A CHAUFFEUR LICENSE.

My initial reaction?
"What do they care? They're dead!"
